Hiking, relax and feel good
The origins of the park Höpkens Ruh go back to the 18th century. At that time, the lawyer Jakob Friedrich Schulz created an idyllic park on the former farmland according to the English model. Around 1800, the manor house was built, in its place stands the Landhaus Höpkens Ruh. The park was named after the tobacconist and captain Johann Höpken, who acquired the area in the mid-19th century and enriched many of the exotic plants he brought back from his travels
In 1893, Johann Höpken gave his idyll to all of Bremen as a gift. The park Höpkens Ruh is a seven hectare area with forest, meadows and water, which is located in Bremen-Oberneuland. Here time has stood still for centuries. A path under 200-year-old oak trees leads through an enchanted paradise, at the end of which white bridges cross narrow streams. Luscious resting places invite you to linger.
